Each deck has four suits of thirteen cards each, which totals 52 – there are 52 weeks in a year. This cycle of 52 weeks was mapped out in ancient times based on the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn.
12 Months
There are 12 total court cards of hearts, clubs, diamonds, and spades and 12 months in one year as well as 12 signs of the zodiac. Numerology finds an auspicious number when adding 5 + 2 to get 7: seven is the number of days in a week and a number with a very high vibration spiritually.
4 Seasons
The four suits of hearts, clubs, diamonds, and spades correspond with powerful dynamics in our natural world. For example, the four seasons of spring, summer, fall, and winter or the four elements of earth, wind, fire, and water.
The Math
Finally, add up each of the numbers from all four suits of the cards (Jacks = 11, Queens = 12, and Kings =13) and that will equal 364. The Joker equals one and one-quarter, which represents 1/4 for each suit and 1/4 for itself. All together this comes to 365 1/4 which is the exact number of days in a year!
